General Manager - Miami

Description

ZogSports was founded by Robert Herzog after his close call on September 11, 2001, and has since grown to become the nation's largest charity-focused, co-ed, social sports league for young professionals. Since 2002, we've brought together hundreds of thousands of people and have donated over $2,700,000 to teams' charities in seven markets across the country (NYC, NJ, DC, ATL, PHL, DEN, SF, LA).

 

Now, we're coming to Miami and looking for a fun, caring and reliable sports enthusiast to launch and operate all aspects of ZogSports’ operations in the Miami market. This position will be semi-autonomous with tremendous support coming from our NYC-based team. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for owning all aspects of successfully running a ZogSports market. This includes all planning, hiring, budgeting and running of sports leagues (including some evenings and weekends).

 

While you will be located in Miami (but begin with several weeks of training in New York City), you will benefit from existing ZogSports infrastructure (including custom-built league management software, a comprehensive interactive operations manual and a supportive team with 20+ years of experience). As a General Manager, you will be an integrated part our national team and will have daily support from ZogSports Headquarters, as well as from the other seven General Managers. You will play an instrumental role in helping ZogSports grow as a brand.

 

We're looking for a funteam player who is reliable and cares about their work, takes the initiative to own their responsibilities and is always striving for continuous improvement.


This is a lifestyle job. While there are regular full time office hours, candidates should be excited about spending time at fields, gyms and bars during some nights and weekends.


The ZogSportsMIA General Manager should be:

1)     Passionate about sports (and having played in recreational sports leagues is a plus!)

2)     Fun, outgoing, and extremely social.

3)     A great networker with a network of young professionals who will play in your leagues.

4)     Entrepreneurial with a desire to grow a lucrative business.

5)     Very familiar with Miami.

6)   Someone with 3-8 years of business experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

+ Planning and management, including staffing, communications, logistics and customer service for any and all ZogSports leagues, tournaments, trips, classes, clinics, social events and volunteer opportunities.

+ Field/gym procurement and ongoing facility relationship management.

+ Hiring, training and managing all Field Team (referees, field managers) and full-time staff.

+ Customer, vendor and partner communications.

+ Development, customization and dissemination of marketing materials.

+ Relationship management for all marketing partners including: clubs, companies and other organizations.

+ Public relations events/projects.

+ Marketing research and identification/conversion of new members and business opportunities/partners.

+ Development and maintenance of social media strategy.

+ League management software (website, content management system and back end admin) management.

+ Profitability analysis

+ Budgeting/finance/accounting

+ All other activities necessary to help build and grow the business.

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED:

+ BA or BS degree

+ Tremendous leadership, drive and enthusiasm

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ 3-8 years of related business experience

+ Ability to handle multiple projects at one time

+ Excellent organization and attention to detail

+ Ability to work independently as well as within a team

+ Self-starter, resourceful, great problem solver

+ Fun on paper and in person

+ Great sense of humor!

PREFERRED:

+ Familiarity with Miami

+ Strong knowledge of PC/network environment including Microsoft Office, the Internet, facsimile machines.

+ Online marketing experience (e.g., Facebook, email campaigns, SEO, SEM)

+ Web development/technology experience

+ Knowledge of organized sports, business of sports, and sports marketing

+ Not afraid of balls

Compensation: In addition to health insurance paid for by ZogSports, awesome vacation policy and all expenses-paid staff events throughout the year, you will receive a base salary with a generous, uncapped profit share that is designed to reward you for your success in growing the company. The right candidate can double their base salary in their second year of operations. Details to be discussed during interview process.

Brand Ambassador

ZogSports is looking for Brand Ambassadors

Responsibilities and Duties

ZogSports is looking for a few outgoing, reliable individuals to become Brand Ambassadors and help promote the upcoming leagues. Position starts as soon as possible. Do you have what it takes?

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Attending events (races, parties, game-watches, etc.) and visiting bars to distribute flyers and discuss ZogSports with attendees
  • Posting flyers in bars in Denver. There's a lot of creativity with this one since we'll give you a list of bars to visit, but also give you the chance to find some locations on your own! You will also be distributing flyers to people in the bars. 
  • Handing out flyers at ZogSports events and discussing upcoming events and activities
  • Distributing flyers at outdoor parks in Denver

About You:

  • Responsible
  • Exhibits our core values: Fun, Team Player, Caring, Reliable, Own It and Continuous improvement
  • Have a flexible schedule: Brand Ambassadors need to be available to work evening hours (most weeknight shifts will be from 7-10 PM) and weekends

Referees

Description

ZogSports is looking for Referees for our Co-ed Sports

Responsibilities and Duties

ZogSports referees will be the head and only referees in charge of games. Shifts will last 1 to 4 hours (one game per hour). Successful candidates will assist the company in helping our games run smoothly, while reminding our players of the social and charity aspect of our leagues. 

Roles and responsibilities include: 
• Referee Games
• Manage all on-field/gym logistics including: timely start and completion of games and team/referee transitions
• Setup field/gym
• Resolve on-field disputes 
• Work with the on- and off-site ZogSports Staff to improve the quality of our leagues
• Learn ZogSports Rules 
• Attend referee training session

REQUIRED: 
• Ideal candidates should be young professionals living in Denver who have a tremendous interest in the sports we play.
• Applicants must be willing to commit to at least the entire season
• Understanding of specific sport and rules
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills
• Ability to handle conflict and be diplomatic in all situations that arise
• Be able to represent ZogSports and our charitable and social focus
• Be fun, social and personable

PREFERRED: 
• Experience in refereeing and knowledge of sports
• Experience on an athletic team.
