Sports League Operations Associate - NJ

Description

The Sports League Operations Associate will report to our Sports Operations and Growth Manager and workhand-in-hand with our League Managers in order to provide the most organized, fun and consistent social sports experience for our participants & assist in the company’s growth in the Morristown & Montclair areas. You will own the operations, marketing and growth of your own portfolio of leagues so it’s a true entrepreneurial opportunity. You get to help thousands of young professionals make great friends, enjoy fun, organized competition and give back.  You will be well supported, much appreciated and an integrated team member from day one. 

Main Responsibilities:

·         League Operations – Team and schedule creation, standings management and updates 
·         Facility Relations – Establish and maintain relationships to obtain and gain new permits at fields & gyms  
·         Customer Service – First line of communication with participants 
·         Staff Management – Scheduling and overseeing part time staff 
·         Website Maintenance – Content Management Systems: including writing and posting relevant notices 
·         Marketing – Assistance with and creation and execution of marketing tactics 
·         Equipment Management – Ordering, maintaining and transporting athletic equipment and team shirts 

Important: 
 
·         Knowledge of and passion for organized sports and interest in participating in recreational sports leagues 
·         Ability to work nights and weekends (most hours will fall into the general M-F work week, but some additional nights and weekends will be required) 
·         Familiarity with Morristown & Montclair, NJ & surrounding areas 
·         Driver’s license required; Ideal candidate will have access to a car

·         BA or BS degree; 0-2 years office experience

General Manager - Miami

Description

ZogSports was founded by Robert Herzog after his close call on September 11, 2001, and has since grown to become the nation's largest charity-focused, co-ed, social sports league for young professionals. Since 2002, we've brought together hundreds of thousands of people and have donated over $2,600,000 to teams' charities in seven markets across the country (NYC, NJ, DC, ATL, SF, LA, PHL).

 

Now, we're coming to Miami and looking for a fun, caring and reliable sports enthusiast to launch and operate all aspects of ZogSports’ operations in the Miami market. This position will be semi-autonomous with tremendous support coming from our NYC-based team. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for owning all aspects of successfully running a ZogSports market. This includes all planning, hiring, budgeting and running of sports leagues (including some evenings and weekends).

 

While you will be located in Miami (but begin with several weeks of training in New York City), you will benefit from existing ZogSports infrastructure (including custom-built league management software, a comprehensive interactive operations manual and a supportive team with 20+ years of experience). As a General Manager, you will be an integrated part our national team and will have daily support from ZogSports Headquarters, as well as from the other seven General Managers. You will play an instrumental role in helping ZogSports grow as a brand.

 

We're looking for a funteam player who is reliable and cares about their work, takes the initiative to own their responsibilities and is always striving for continuous improvement.


This is a lifestyle job. While there are regular full time office hours, candidates should be excited about spending time at fields, gyms and bars during some nights and weekends.


The ZogSportsMIA General Manager should be:

Responsibilities and Duties

+ Planning and management, including staffing, communications, logistics and customer service for any and all ZogSports leagues, tournaments, trips, classes, clinics, social events and volunteer opportunities.

+ Field/gym procurement and ongoing facility relationship management.

+ Hiring, training and managing all Field Team (referees, field managers) and full-time staff.

+ Customer, vendor and partner communications.

+ Development, customization and dissemination of marketing materials.

+ Relationship management for all marketing partners including: clubs, companies and other organizations.

+ Public relations events/projects.

+ Marketing research and identification/conversion of new members and business opportunities/partners.

+ Development and maintenance of social media strategy.

+ League management software (website, content management system and back end admin) management.

+ Profitability analysis

+ Budgeting/finance/accounting

+ All other activities necessary to help build and grow the business.

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED:

+ BA or BS degree

+ Tremendous leadership, drive and enthusiasm

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ 3-8 years of related business experience

+ Ability to handle multiple projects at one time

Compensation: In addition to health insurance paid for by ZogSports, awesome vacation policy and all expenses-paid staff events throughout the year, you will receive a base salary with a generous, uncapped profit share that is designed to reward you for your success in growing the company.
