Sports League Operations Associate - NJ

Description

1.     Nationwide, ZogSports delivers fun by bringing people together through sports.  Every year we organize recreational co-ed sports leagues and great post-game happy hours for 100,000+ young professionals. Charity is an integral part of ZogSports. Therefore, we donate 10% of net proceeds to charity every season.

The Sports League Operations Associate will report to our Sports Operations and Growth Manager and workhand-in-hand with our League Managers in order to provide the most organized, fun and consistent social sports experience for our participants & assist in the company’s growth in the Morristown & Montclair areas. You will own the operations, marketing and growth of your own portfolio of leagues so it’s a true entrepreneurial opportunity. You get to help thousands of young professionals make great friends, enjoy fun, organized competition and give back.  You will be well supported, much appreciated and an integrated team member from day one. 

Main Responsibilities:

·         League Operations – Team and schedule creation, standings management and updates 
·         Facility Relations – Establish and maintain relationships to obtain and gain new permits at fields & gyms  
·         Customer Service – First line of communication with participants 
·         Staff Management – Scheduling and overseeing part time staff 
·         Website Maintenance – Content Management Systems: including writing and posting relevant notices 
·         Marketing – Assistance with and creation and execution of marketing tactics 
·         Equipment Management – Ordering, maintaining and transporting athletic equipment and team shirts 

Important: 
 
·         Knowledge of and passion for organized sports and interest in participating in recreational sports leagues 
·         Ability to work nights and weekends (most hours will fall into the general M-F work week, but some additional nights and weekends will be required) 
·         Familiarity with Morristown & Montclair, NJ & surrounding areas 
·         Driver’s license required; Ideal candidate will have access to a car

·         Leader 

 REQUIRED:

·         BA or BS degree; 0-2 years office experience 
·         Fun on paper and in person – excellent written and oral communication skills 
·         Excellent organization skills and attention to detail 
·         Ability to handle multiple projects at one time 
·         Not petrified of technology, speaking on the phone, meeting new people at a bar, etc.

ZogSports has been delivering FUN SPORTS to young professionals since 2002. We currently have operations in New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Philadelphia!

Responsibilities and Duties

As a Metuchen Volleyball REFEREE you will assist the ZogSports Team in helping our 100,000+ participants have the highlight of their week by making sure game operations run smoothly, are as fun as possible, and always incorporate both our social feel and charity aspects.

We’re looking for fun, team players who are reliable and organized, care about their work, and strive for continuous improvement.

Are you:

  • Available to consistently work on weeknights?
  • Available to work in Metuchen ?
  • Passionate about sports, and especially knowledgeable about Volleyball and its basic rules?
  • Strong in communication and problem solving skills?
  • Fun, outgoing, and social?

  • Be an AMBASSADOR for ZogSports, promoting a fun and social experience at every game?
  • Manage all ON-SITE LOGISTICS including; arriving 10-15 minutes before games start, court & net set-up, potentially helping bring equipment, treating rented facilities with respect and sending in game reports?
  • Resolve on-site disputes calmly?
  • Learn the ZogSports Rules and way of handling situations?
  • Help improve the quality of all ZogSports activities?
  • REFEREE games?
