Growth & Operations Coordinator (Full Time)

Description

The Growth & Operations Coordinator (GOC) is a full-time job working out of our New York City office and reporting to our General Manager of New Jersey.  The GOC will have complete accountability to grow her/his portfolio on the strategic growth side of the business, in addition to overall support as part of the greater ZogSports NJ Team.  You will learn on the job by running the start-to-finish operations that bring our leagues and activities to life.  

Responsibilities and Duties

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Strategic Planning – Understanding of current and potential Jersey City and Hudson County customers; designing leagues and activities to meet demand

Building Relationships – Getting to know customers in-person, over the phone, online, etc. (fully understanding WHY they play – in order to best solve their problems)

Sales – Networking & prospecting to find new potential teams/players; generate and follow up with leads

Marketing – Assistance with the creation and execution of marketing tactics

Facility Relationship Management – Establish relationship with current field/gym contacts; Identifying additional field/gym needs and improvements in order to go out and obtain permits at new locations

Staff Management – Hiring, Training and Management of part time staff

League Operations – Team and schedule creation, Standings management and updates

Customer Service – Consistent problem solving with an eye on problem prevention over short term cures

 

IMPORTANT: 

Knowledge of and passion for organized sports and interest in participating in recreational sports leagues

Ability to work nights and weekends (most hours will be in the office and fall into the general M-F work week 10:00am-6:00pm, but additional nights and weekends will be required)

Interest in working in, and contributing to, a fun/active office environment (includes frequent ball throwing, music playing and other shenanigans)

REQUIRED:

BA or BS degree; 1-3 years office experience

Fun on paper and in person – excellent written and oral communication skills

Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

Ability to handle multiple projects at one time

Comfortable speaking on the phone, meeting new people at a bar, etc.

Willing to go above and beyond, especially an understanding and desire to always to improve as a member of the team

Sports Program Associate (Full Time)

Description

This is a great job because the Sports Program Associate (SPA) is a full-time gig reporting to our fun and experienced General Manager. You will be learning on the job by running the start-to-finish league operations for a large number of our leagues throughout northern New Jersey in order to help support the company’s rapid growth. You will be well-supported, much appreciated and an integrated team member from day one. 

Responsibilities and Duties

Main Responsibilities:
  • Referee Management – Take the lead on working with our Elevated Field Team Members (EFTs) in the Hiring, Training, and Management of part time staff (referees, field managers, etc.)
  • League Management – Support leagues by creating teams, schedules, and managing weekly standings
  • Customer Service – Manage customer service responses through phone calls, emails and online inquiries pertaining to on-site operations
  • Website Maintenance – Support website content management, including updating seasonal league pages and posting relevant notices
  • Will take over and learn payroll procedures for all part-time Staff
  • Equipment Management – Ordering, maintaining, and coordination of athletic equipment
IMPORTANT:
  • Knowledge of, and passion for, organized sports and interest in participating in recreational sports leagues
  • Ability to work nights and weekends (most hours will fall into the general M-F work week, but additional nights and weekends will be required)
  • Strong work ethic and motivated by reaching incentive based goals
  • Interest in working in, and contributing to, a fun/active office environment (includes occasional ball throwing, music playing and other spontaneous ice cream runs or happy hour jaunts)

  • Comfortable with technology, mainly Microsoft Excel and Outlook

  • Knowledge of organized sports, business of sports, and sports marketing

Referee (Part Time)

Responsibilities and Duties

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Referee Games - Referee 4+ shifts per week in one of our sports: Basketball, Dodgeball, Football, Kickball, Soccer, Softball, Volleyball. Shifts are 4+ hours each.

Equipment Inventory - Maintain equipment inventory at facilities and report needs to managers after each shift

Customer Service – Deliver a fun and fair experience for our players and report feedback to managers

Brand Ambassador -- Be a representative of the ZogSports brand and get players excited about the ZogSports community

IMPORTANT:

Sport-specific knowledge, experience playing or refereeing

Referee certification is not required for this position

Interest working in, and contributing to, a fun/active work environment

REQUIRED:

Consistent availability on nights and weekends (most shifts are Monday through Thursday nights from 7-11pm or weekends between 1pm-10pm)
