The Sports League Growth Manager (SLGM) is a full-time job reporting to our experienced Vice President/GM of NYC. The SLGM will have complete accountability to grow her/his portfolio on the strategic growth side of the business, while receiving direct operational support from the Head Operations Manager, in addition to overall support as part of the greater ZogSports NYC Team. You will learn on the job by running the start-to-finish operations that bring our leagues and activities in NYC to life. You will be well-supported, much appreciated and an integrated team member from day one.

Responsibilities and Duties

SPORTS LEAGUE GROWTH MANAGER PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS
Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning – Understanding of current and potential Football and Volleyball customers; designing leagues and activities to meet demand
  • Building Relationships – Getting to know customers in-person, over the phone, online, etc. (fully understanding WHY they play – in order to best solve their problems)
  • Sales – Networking & prospecting to find new potential teams/players; generate and follow up with leads
  • Marketing – Assistance with and creation and execution of marketing tactics (will have the help of the NYC Marketing Manager)
  • Facility Relationship Management – Establish relationship with current field/gym contacts; Identifying additional field/gym needs and improvements in order to go out and obtain permits at new locations
  • Customer Service – Consistent problem solving with an eye on problem prevention over short term cures


IMPORTANT:
  • Knowledge of and passion for organized sports and interest in participating in recreational sports leagues (in particular football and volleyball knowledge and passion is a plus)
  • Ability to work nights and weekends (most hours will fall into the general M-F work week 10:00am-6:00pm, but additional nights and weekends will be required)
  • Interest in working in, and contributing to, a fun/active office environment (includes frequent ball throwing, music playing and other shenanigans)

REQUIRED:
  • BA or BS degree; 2-4 years office experience
  • Fun on paper and in person – excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Not petrified of speaking on the phone, meeting new people at a bar, etc.
  • Willing to go above and beyond, especially an understanding and desire to always to improve as a member of the team
  • Any previous management of other people is a plus

We are an open book management company. Yes, we need you to do all the blocking and tackling of a full-charge bookkeeper but this is also an opportunity to think, analyze and provide needed financial information to the management team and entire company to impact company strategy.

The Junior Finance  Manager is a full-time job reporting to our experienced Comptroller/Office Manager, joining the greater ZogSports Team who reside in 6 cities. You will be well-supported, much appreciated and an integrated team member from day one.

Junior Finance Manager Requirements:
  • Experienced bookkeeper with desire and ability to think and solve problems and present information to help improve company operations and profitability
  • Solid QB experience, including class feature; possible experience with more sophisticated General Ledger programs
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of Intacct software a big plus
  • Knowledge of financial controls
  • Comfortable using online banking
  • Comfortable in an open and exuberant office environment
  • Knowledge of payroll processing a plus

Main Responsibilities:
  • Accounting Software, bank accounts and expense categorization
    • Assist with conversion from QB to Intacct
    • Categorize revenue and expenses for 10+ companies with separate tax id #s under one roof
    • Enter of bank account activity for approximately 30 bank accounts into QB
    • Enter of credit card activity for 8+ cards and expense classification
    • Ensure consistency across charts of accounts for all operating entities
    • Reconcile bank accounts on monthly basis
  • Research and communication with company operations leaders - researching potential missing expenses, accruing expected expenses, finalizing details, communicating with GMs and operations staff to accurately categorize and report expenses
  • Accounts payable
    • Create Play for your Cause charity checks 4 times a year for each operating entity
    • Help develop consistent A/P process
    • Pay and track bill payment for all markets; possibly for CEO as well
  • Accounts receivable – a relatively minor challenge for our business but help collect league fees for “Held” teams and corporate events
  • Payroll – run payroll for full-time and part-time team 
  • Tax and 401k stuff
    • 1099 creation in January
    • Creation and maintenance of employee and vendor files
    • Assist with 401k contribution process
  • Financial reporting and problems solving
    • Execute process for getting information from remote markets into accounting software in timely fashion
    • Execute process for marrying information from outside of accounting software (e.g., registration system) with accounting software
    • Categorize expenses to next level of detail (by sport, location, league, league manager, corporate, etc.)
    • Prepare regular financial reports (operating profit, P&L, budget v. actuals, LER, etc.)
    • Perform ad hoc finance research and reporting
    • Help GMs create P&L estimates and budgeting each season
    • Create and maintain management information dashboards (possibly automated going forward)

Floor Hockey Referee - New York

Responsibilities and Duties

ZogSports, a charity-focused, social sports league for young professionals in NYC, is looking for referees for our Co-ed Floor Hockey League. Review our website at www.zogsports.com  for more information on our company.

 

Floor Hockey referees will work weeknights on Wednesday and/or Thursday from 7pm to 10pm at Dwight School Athletic Center (2116 1st avenue, New York, NY 10029) and on weekends at the Roosevelt Island Sports Park. Successful candidates will assist the company in helping our games run smoothly and safely while reminding our members of the charity and social aspects of our leagues. Responsibilities and duties include:

·         Attend referee training session

·         Learn ZogSports rules and enforce them 

·         Set-up court 

·         Manage all on-court logistics including: timely start and completion of games

·         Referee Games (call penalties, communicate with players)

·         Resolve on-court disputes

·         Work with the on and off site ZogSports Staff to improve the quality of our leagues

 

REQUIRED:

·         Ideal candidates should be young professionals living in the NYC metro area who have a tremendous interest in Hockey

·         Have experience playing and/or refereeing hockey

·         Understanding of specific sport and Zog rules

·         Excellent communication and problem solving skills

·         Ability to handle conflict and be assertive in a fast pace game

·         Capable of being diplomatic in all situations that arise and communicate the rules or call

·         Be able to represent ZogSports and our charitable and social focus

Responsibilities and Duties

As a Queens Volleyball REFEREE you will assist the ZogSports Team in helping our 100,000+ participants have the highlight of their week by making sure game operations run smoothly, are as fun as possible, and always incorporate both our social feel and charity aspects.

We’re looking for fun, team players who are reliable and organized, care about their work, and strive for continuous improvement.

Are you:

  • Available to consistently work on weekends & some weeknights?
  • Available to work in Long Island City, Queens?
  • Passionate about sports, and especially knowledgeable about Volleyball and its basic rules?
  • Strong in communication and problem solving skills?
  • Fun, outgoing, and social?

  • Be an AMBASSADOR for ZogSports, promoting a fun and social experience at every game?
  • Manage all ON-SITE LOGISTICS including; arriving 10-15 minutes before games start, court & net set-up, potentially helping bring equipment, treating rented facilities with respect and sending in game reports?

·         Familiar with refereeing volleyball and especially knowledgeable in its rules?

·         Experienced at playing volleyball at the high school or higher level?

·         Strong in communication and problem solving skills?

·         Fun, outgoing, and social?

 

Do you want to:
